Hindi was given the status of the official language of India on 14 September 1949. After the announcement of 14th September, we celebrated this day as Hindi Diwas.

Hindi is also compiled in the form of a script in our constitution. In 1949, the Constituent Assembly declared Hindi the official language of India. 

However, the first Hindi Day in India was celebrated on 14 September 1953.
